Addiction is a word largely defined by theorists. Many of them are doctors, PhDs, counselors and therapists of various titles and educational backgrounds. But dealing with addiction—and learning the life skills necessary to live a sober life—are things they don’t teach in school. That's why 85% of addicts who come out of rehab wind up relapsing time and again.
Black Cat Lodge honors an addict's prescribed after-care plan, and we incorporate a personalized version of the 12-step theory. However, you will not find a rigid clinical recovery program here. What you will find is my natural way of helping addicts understand that they have done nothing wrong. My way of building trust in terms only an addict can understand and, more important, not dismiss.
By taking walks in the beautiful surroundings and contributing to the community, the path away from dependency toward self-sufficiency begins. As the trust builds, so do feelings of belonging, mutual respect and purpose. Things that stay with you forever. Black Cat Lodge is, however, not for everybody.
Find out if it’s right for you.
